Default Using Hollywood Zip Codes for House Hunting

I don't know the Hollywood area too well, but am looking rent in East Hollywood. I'm looking by zip code. I notice a lot of nice property in 33019, but fairly expensive. I want to continue looking in EAST Hollywood, any other zip codes you can recommend...what does 33024 cover...seedy or not?

Not sure if this will provide a better insight to your question, but try these sites:

ZipWho.com - Free ZIP Code Demographics
Community Information by Zip Code

try this one first:
Community Data - ESRI Data

Also, trulia.com besides being a real estate site also offers a host of other information about communities, etc.

Hope this helps.

33019 covers all of the parts of east Hollywood you want to be in. 33020 is pretty much the dividing line but you might find a property here and there in that zip code (make sure you are east of US1). 33024 actually mostly covers Pembroke Pines and is a mediocre yet fairly safe working class area of 1960s ranch homes that isn't scary at all, but unfortunately the areas of that zip code that are within Hollywood (east of 72nd Ave) are a tad seedier. Again, not scary, but think "white trash" and you get the idea, and I'm not much for stereotypes. Also, 33024 only covers the extreme western reaches of Hollywood, which is probably not where you want to be geographically if you are looking at the east side. All and all, 33024 is adequate but not particularly desirable.
