Default Moving 2 Banyan Trails/Winston Park Area..Can you smell the dump?!!

Looking to buy a home in Banyan Trails/Winston Park area. Can you smell the dump thats in close proximity to there. I did not smell it at any of the open houses, but it is close by and a friend of mine told me that you can smell it when the wind is blowing west. I do not want to be in the backyard with the kids smelling like we are in a waste facility.

Anyone live in this area? Tell me what you like and dislike about the area

I spend a lot of time in the area (I ride horses at a barn off Vinkemulder Rd and in Tradewinds Park). I am out in the area for a hours at a time, a few days per week.

Over the past few years, I have only noticed the smell a few times. It is rare that the wind blows in that direction. I don't recall smelling it during cooler weather, only on the really hot days (makes sense).

I like the area. Coconut Creek seems well run and has lots of recreational activities. The new Promenade Shopping Center is in walking /biking distance of the homes in the neighborhood, with Starbucks, restaurants, nice shops.
There are so few places in South Florida where you could bike from the house out to dinner, so that is cool.
