Default Woodlands Country Club - Great Transitional Neighborhood Friendly Neighbors in Tamarac

I don't know if anyone is familiar with this gem of a neighborhood called Woodlands Country Club because I wasn't before we bought in here (and I lived down here for 20 years) and we have been so pleasantly surprised. First of all, the homes are very unique and quite retro looking. Most are very different looking. Not cookie cutter like where I used to live. Some have that mid-century ranch look or modern look that I love. In fact, when my husband found this home online, I said to him, "Tamarac?" I couldn't even fathom living here but the neighborhood is beautiful. It offers a variety of price ranges here and is surrounded by golf courses, lakes and has a beautiful country club. There are fruit trees galore, geese, ducks, turtles and wild parrots I see during my walks and in my back yard.

The best part is the neighbors are so nice and everyone waves or introduces themselves. It's like going back in time to the good old days. There are many younger people as well as older people. People are out walking, biking or walking their dogs. Depending on the home you buy, most homes cover your lawn maintenance and pool fees in your HOA dues. There are roving BSO patrols around. While at the bus stop, I asked an officer about crime there and he told me there were break-ins but those were very rare. I told him where I lived before, I lived in a guard gated community and we had all sorts of car break-ins...usually a rash of them every 2-3 months.

The golf course is private but you can join different types of memberships whether it's for golfing or it's just to eat in the restaurant which I've tried and it's fantastic.

I also found that I'm very close to everything like downtown Fort Lauderdale, Boca and eating out in Coral Springs so I really love the location. Plus, it's right near the turnpike for easy access. I am not a real estate agent..in fact, we found our current home online. We had to show it to our realtor. But this place is just really nice and I wanted to share this.

I am glad that you are happy with your decision to move here. I know about Woodmont and I do wish we could move in there. We went to an open house in that location and LOVED the house but it was way too expensive. The neighborhood I really like is on the SE corner of Pine Island and NW 81st Street. One issue I have with Woodmont is the lack of sidewalks but that seems to be a problem throughout west Tamarac. The schools may also be an issue for some families but I think they are fine.

Woodmont is very nice too! I'm writing about The Woodlands Country Club. There are over 800 homes here I think and the prices range from the mid 100's to over $2 million.

Oh, I misread. I Googled The Woodlands Country Club and now I see I was totally way off! HAHA! Maybe I will take a drive down that way. Thanks for the correction and the information on your neighborhood.
