isn't it true that fort lauderdale is on forbes's list of the top 25 best cities to find and get a job?

Yes but be careful! They go by number of job openings. They could be all jobs working at Target, Wal-mart, McDonalds, etc. I know Cape Coral-Ft. Myers was ranked one of the best once. We are mainly an econmy based on the service industry which tends to be very low paying. I think the economy is pretty much the same in all of Florida. Most new job openings are due to a growing commercial sector and not a growing professional one.

lauderdale is the customer service, call center, telemarketing capital of the world...come to lauderdale to wear a phone headset in a sweat shop environment taking calls all day for $9/hr

Please don't get a slanted view of FTL. Yes, it is true that the Forbes article is misleading. However, there are other types of jobs here. You simply have to do your research.

We own a small tech company and yes, we are in the service business, but there are scores of other professions. Medical, technical, support, etc. Good luck to you.
