We're going to FL and wanted to know if there is a beach that's cleaner, with clear water and white sand anywhere in fort lauderdale.....

Suggestions welcome.

The white sand is on the gulf coast, not here. Fort Lauderdale beaches are raked in the morning. Water clarity depends on ocean conditions that particular day. You'll generally find calmer, clearer waters nearshore when westerly winds head out to sea.

Go to Siesta Key beach in Sarasota FL if you want white sand.

There is no white sand anywhere in Fort Lauderdale.

That being said, the sand is VERY nice...a far cry above any of the beaches up north. The water is all pretty clean, but Ive heard there's a sewer disposal pump a few miles off the beach near Pompano. They regularly test tho and if ever water is unsanitary anywhere they issue an alert.

That is soooooo gross, I hope the beaches don't turn into those like Jones or Jersey Shore - I can't swim in those beaches, they are just gross to me!

I think the sand on Robert Moses beach on Long Island is just fine.

The water at Ft. Lauderdale Beach is very nice. There is no pollution to speak of. How clear/blue it is depends only on the weather. If it is very sunny and clear skies the water is beautiful. If it gets cloudy out the water darkens. The sand is light brown, not white. You have to go to the west coast of FL to get white hour-glass sand. But the sand is very clean for the most part. You should have no issue with the sand.
