My son will be graduating from college and moving across the country to Florida to for a job near the Executive Airport in the Cypress Creek area. What would be a very safe, relatively quiet neighborhood where he could rent an affordable apartment with a commuting radius of about 20 to 30 minutes max?

His work day start time is flexible, and he can arrive as late at 10am if he wants. He is not much for partying or night life, though he might not like being stuck way out in the suburbs among just families either. Can anyone recommend some areas we that might be a good fit for us to check out? I am especially concerned about crime in the general vicinity as I have read some areas have higher than average crime stats.

Thanks so much!

No idea what affordable means to different people. I looked for something under $1k. Young man first time on own in Florida. No doubt, put him to the beaches.

In Pompano...

Or do a search yourself. As you do not know the areas, generally for now just look between US1 (aka Federal Hwy) & the ocean and from about 14th Street Causeway in Pompano Beach to Maybe Las Olas & A1A in Fort Lauderdale. He can learn better other areas after he gets settled in.

What I would especially appreciate is having the actual names of subdivisions, parts of town, or nearby cities within a 20 minute driving radius from Cypress Creek Rd. so we can start looking into housing options. We are only interested in the specific areas that have a reputation for being safe and having less crime than the general surrounding areas. Honestly, my son is really not interested in being by the beach or ocean, just in saving money and being convenient to work, unless being near the beach would be especially convenient and affordable as well. He is a quiet person and is not into the party scene or beach scene. The price range of affordable for us would be $800 per month or less if possible for a 1 bedroom apartment. Thanks again-- we really appreciate it.
