Default Ft. Lauderdale women died trying to stop hit and run driver

I woke up today to see this on the news. Very Sad. My heart goes out to her
and her family.

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (June 5) - A woman trying to stop a motorist from fleeing after a collision was dragged for several miles to her death under the man's minivan, officials said Monday.

I believe that he was from Lebanon. What they failed to say is that when they followed him and he became blocked in, the woman stood in front of his car while the 300+ lb boyfriend tried to get him out of the car. He should have never fled the scene to begin with, but the victims should have used better judgement. I think that if he was in that much fear and struck the woman, he should have pulled over and ran for help. His excuse may have avoided as much jail time as he's going to get. Bad judgement on both sides.

In the first interview with the boyfriend he said they were drinking at the Hard Rock. This is something that never should have happened.
