There's a pretty high probability that I'll have a job in Sunrise, FL in the next month or so. I'd be moving down from NY. I'm currently looking around for a nice area to live in. Apartment complexes seem like the easiest place to get into right off the bat. I'd be looking to pay no more than 800-1000/month in rent. Anyone have any recommendations for nice complexes for that price range?

Try realtor.com and select the rent option. There are decent rental complexs on Sunrise west of University Drive. Not so sure you will be able to get something in your price range. Good luck to you!!

Thanks jhl. I don't need a big place, it's just me, so the price range shouldn't be a problem. I was just hoping someone knew of any specific places they could recommend.

I know that one bedrooms in Water Terrace are around 1,050.00, but that if you get an apt without a lake view, the rent is less. Not sure how much. the complex is decent and well maintained, but the units are dated with carpet. They do include washer dryer, though.

There's a place on Commercial Blvd. called intown suites. They rent small studios for around $250 a week. Try something like that until you get to know the area. This area is really hard to figure out. You can be on a street where only millionaires can afford to live and go around the corner to find a street you can't get far enough from. It's like that everywhere and it's a challange to find a spot that isn't like that. Check out the extended stay website. Ignore the prices though, call each locations number and you're guaranteed to get a cheaper price than the one the website gives you. Stay far from the crossland on Commercial in Ft. Lauderdale. It's a disgusting crack house of a hotel in a not so great part of town. You really need to be sure about a place before you sign for more than a few weeks. South Florida is extremely spotty everywhere you go.

I am in the same exact boat you are. Moving from NY to sunrise. Let me know if you find any ideas and I will do the same for you.
