Hi All,

We were planning on going to the manatee park but someone told us they went and didn't see any of the cute critters. Can anyone recommend somewhere else to watch manatees? Thank you!

They are very warm water critters. If they aren't near the power plant reactor with this cold weather I wouldn't know where they would be. We lost a record number last year due to cold water and boats. Did the people rent a boat or just look from shore at the park? They have small boat rentals and you can paddle around to find them. I would think that would give you a better chance of seeing some.

There are so many in the Orange River this time of year you can practically walk across the river.

In early December we were at Manatee Park and the small baylette toward the river was wall to wall

it was a couple of days after it went cold, highs in the low 60s

Thanks all--caught a glimpse of some in a canal behind a house we looked at, but no great up-close sightings. Hopefully soon.
