Exclamation Guess What

Remember my thoughts about the airport being able to be a place for employment in the future.

Read this:

Airport lands biotech park | news-press.com | The News-Press

IMHO This will only be the first of many things to come in the future.

I have never been there, so I will not try to pretend like I know about the cities between Sarasota and Naples, but I do know that part of the state is susceptible to Hurricanes! 2004 was a bad year for that corner of the state. I cannot remember if it was Port Charlotte or Cape Coral, but it is all over the wikipedia article. Really sad since there are so many old people down there...

Anywhere (nation wide) on the coast you are suseptible to hurricanes. I guess we have a bulls eye painted on us.

What was it before 2004?

Sorry to say, the whole state is susceptible to hurricanes, as well as just about any state bordering the Gulf or the Atlantic. It isn't just the area between Sarasota and Naples. Actually, I'd consider this area pretty lucky because the last major hurricane hit before 2004 was in 1960 with Hurricane Donna.

Bill..I've been perusing some of the real estate ads....I'm assuming if it says public water/sewer they are hooked up, if it says assessment paid..??? what does that mean
Well/septic I'm assuming you would have to pay to hook up to public utilities and that isn't cheap...

On the condos, why don't realtors list the maintenance fee??? We all know there is one and I hate to call because that opens the flood gates and I'm only in the "thinking about it" stage

It would be for short vacations now and then snowbirdies in a few years with at least one of us becoming a bona fide resident for taxes

Paid Assesments is your city water, sewer lines and probably your re-claimed water for watering your lawn.

I don't follow condos much but you are right about the fees being shown,

I was still living on Long Island, on the water, when we got hit with Donna.

Streets flooded, power lines down as well as some trees, typical for a hurricane.

Now here with all the gloom and doom weather reporters since Charlie, if it blows more the 30 evryone freaks out.....Only kidding

You just learn to prepare for it if it happens, have a generator, extra fuel, bottled water, etc.

Agree....hurricanes unlike an earth quake or tornado, you know it's coming..for days..you prepare, keep track of the updates and have plans to leave if it's going to be a big one

Default Charter Schools in Cape Coral

There are 8 NEW Charter schools in Lee County and 2 in The Cape.

This is the best thing that ever happened to the school system in Florida.

If you goof off....do not do your studies or respect the faculty....your are out! These schools are for kids that want to learn and not for kids that don't.

Cape Coral is growing and this slow down in Building is actually a good thing.
It is giving the local government a chance to catch up to rapid growth.

I would not choose to live anywhere else in the USA....The Cape rocks!
