I will be in Fort Myers next week for a job interview. Where would be a good area to look at potential rentals? Right now it looks like south of Colonial, South For Myers.

One place you do NOT want to live in is Pine Manor.

Default Pine Manor

Pine Manor is so close to Whiskey Creek though, I thought Whiskey Creek is a nice area?

I like Whiskey Creek and think it's nice. Just bear in mind that when you live that close to a neighborhood like that you can get traffic from that crew. It's common in Florida where you can be in a lovely area and one street over they are slinging crack from the corners. Drug addicts run out of money and the nearby areas where people actually have money and pawnable items suddenly looks very enticing.

Nor do you want to rent anything on Metro Pkwy...Westwood or Westchase..both are dumps, full of secion 8ers, income base rentals. But don't let the income basing fool you...you can earn quite a bit and still qualify to live there.

Horizons on Summerlin is being revamped..it's going to be another low income housing complex...I bet those over the wall in Whiskey Creek are crapping their pants.

Pine Manor is between Summerlin and 41...stay as far away as you possibly can.....go as far south of Page Field as you can...there isn't anything clost to Page Field I'd consider letting my dog live in..but that's just me.

I was a bit shocked when I read about the Horizons being revamped...I know ppl who live in the complex across street and they are ticked and are looking to move.

I know I'm being a judgemental, but look at Westwood and Westchase...they used to be nice normal places until they decided to take section 8 and went income based.

I like the City of Fort Myers depending on your budget there a number of options. High rises on the river can be found a great deal depends on your needs & situation.

Hey LisaMarie..how are you? How was your move? Are you enjoying your new home?

Gulfstream is close to Page Field and is pretty decent.
