I have been looking at rental properties for a friend and have noticed quite a few homes being swarmed by large wasps. They have got to be an inch to inch and a half long and are black and white. They don't seem to bother or attack anyone and seem harmless. Have any of you seen them? Does anyone know anything about them? Thank you!

For information on wasps in Florida go to: Florida Wasp Guide | Florida Insects

It gives you information on different types of wasps and how dangerous they are or not.

Sounds like it might be wood bees. They look like wasps but are harmless. But it could be a paper wasp or something else.

Google "Polk dot Wasp Moth" . I saw some of these by a few homes this week.
