If 1 is lowest and 100 is highest on the cost of living index. 96 for a place like CC is no deal.
Very expensive for nothing.

As others have pointed out, 100 = the national average, not the highest.

So it is 96 of 100 of the national average, 4 points from being the highest cost of living in the nation. THAT MAKES IT BETTER

Or is it one of those thingyies that don't count because its NATIONAL

For what CC is it should be more like 15 on the cost of living index.

Reality is not negative, it just is. And just because you don't agree does not make it negative either.

A math lesson: If 100 is the average and CC is 96, that makes the cost of living BELOW the AVERAGE, or better. An index value higher than 100 would make it more expensive to live in a particular area.

This may help to end any confusion in your mind. The cities that are well known to be the most expensive to live in are:

  • New York-Northern New Jersey-Long Island, NY-NJ-PA - index of 218.
  • Honolulu - index of 171
  • San Francisco-Oakland-Fremont, CA - index of 164
  • Cape Coral-Fort Myers, FL - index of 97
  • Pueblo, CO - index of 84 (the lowest of the 353 metro areas represented.)

So 100 is not the highest number why didnt you say so in the first place
This was my original question"
That cost of living index is that 96 out of 100.
Cause that is not a good deal if that is what it is.

but you just ignored that so what do you expect.

I think a sixth grader would understand that"100 is the average" does not mean that "100 is the highest"
