Hey ladies and gents, sorry if it sounded as if I'm arguing about the validity, I was just questioning the data from various sites compared to what is discussed on the forums and they definitely differ.

I checked crime rates by zip codes on one site and was pretty much spot on for Louisville. Using this same site for Lehigh Acres, it shows it's a pretty darn safe spot ranking below average in crime except for one zipcode. Puzzling yes, but some of your posts are enlightening to say the least.

Thanks!

I lived in Lehigh Acres for few days. I have a very good impression during these few days and few times of stays. I have purchased a house there and I still love the place.
After I read the posting of this string, I felt I was brain washed to change my opinion of Lehigh Acres. Is this the same Lehigh Acres that the string talked about and the place I have lived?

Hello,
There are some very nice areas of Lehigh. I recommend anywhere on Sunshine NORTH of Lee Blvd, the far East side of Lehigh, Leeland Heights or off Milwaukee. Stay far away from Gunnery, the SW region, Bell Blvd area, and most streets right off SR 82. I highly advise checking the crime maps for the past 60 days to get a good grasp. You can type in the address and check for Registered Sex Offenders also. I love living in Lehigh and while there is a lot of gutter trash, you can certaintly find some amazing deals in great areas if you do your diligence. Good luck!!

Check out this link, there is no more crime in Lehigh then there is in say, Cape Coral. Like I said before, you cant' argue with the facts, they are just that, facts. Crime in Lehigh is actually lower than the national average.

Default Thems fighting words

Frank, ah, just saying... Facts that might shed Lehigh Acres in a possitive light, aren't thought of too kindly, around these here CC parts.
You should come clean now, and confess your slanderous intentions,
lest evil shall befall you.

The fbi puts out a crime index. These are facts billy please look up and let us know cape coral vs ft myers vs lehigh vs florida vs us. I'm assuming you'll find lehigh crime index ( for violent crimes) is 3 times higher than cape coral, half of what ft myers and about equal to the rest of florida which i bet is probably higher than the rest of the us. If you are ok with that then fine you are the one looking to buy not anyone else.

When hik made the comment of your kind she meant nothing in a biggoted way at all the internet hides race religeon etc. You were the one to bring up good ol boys and trying to paint a whole city in a certain light shame on you. What hik did mean by the comment was we are used to newbies coming on and asking question but they don't get the answer they were looking for so they argue and only give creedence to people who give the answer they were looking for.

After reading your posts i would think you will buy in lehigh and be very happy with it. There are plenty of towns in mass like dorchester vs brookline or west roxbury. Very few people with no agenda can really make the case that dorchester is nicer, safer than brookline but i am sure there are plenty of people from doechester that love living there. So good luck to you and when you do buy you can report back as you get to know the ares and be helpful to others that are looking to buy in lehigh

It's been said many times on this forum that the issue has far, far more to do with quality of life than it does with crime. We're all different but most people prefer not to live next to people that sell dope and deal with the 24-hour car and foot traffic, the pitbulls chained in the yard. Who wants to live amidst folks that use to live in the largest housing project in Fort Myers, gangs, squatters and druggies looking for copper and quick money?

Well, I am here to tell you NO it is NOT just landlords, trying to say good things about Lehigh so they can rent their properties out. Funny some people sound so much more intelligent if they just leave their mouths shut.
I live in Lehigh, and have NEVER had a problem (and I am an older handicapped female), it is like ANY area, in any city, if you lie down with dogs you will get fleas.

Read the local papers, you will see where the majority of the crime is. And most of it occurs outside of Lehigh (and being there is so much undeveloped land, it is therefore used for a dumping ground) to which most equate that it is where the crime has occurred (no necessarily the case) and as of late there has been far more crime in the out lying areas, even in your beloved CC.

Lehigh is FAR from being a "dump" or being full of "white trash" again, some people appear much brighter until they open their mouths! The best thing for you to do is to take yourself a vacation to the Ft Myers area (there are many wonderful hotels in the area, some of which are right on the beach if you like) and stay for a couple of weeks, visit the various areas during the day and night time. And decide for yourself which area is to your liking.
