Lisa what part of RI are you from?
Right now I'm in Coventry and am also looking to make a move to Florida within the next year. I have been intrigued with the North Port area, which seems to be reasonably priced and a growing community.
I am concerned about the job situation and distances people say they have to travel to and from work.

Fast forward almost 3 years later and those new homes sold in 2005-2006 in CC for $295,000 are now repos for $90,000. The tax assessor is slo-owly lowering appraisal values so as not to bankrupt city services. I can afford to buy my retirement home in Florida after leaving 20 years ago for better work up north.

We live in the South Cape in the Yacht Club District & love it. If you like boating a quiet community to live in this the a great place. If you need to work in Fort Myers it's a piece of cake to cross the Cape Coral Bridge and no more than 20 minutes to the airport or I75 from where we live. Great weather Great water a Great place to live.

I agree, we have a house in the SW and couldn't be happier. We love it.
