Thank you Samiamnh,

I don't know about you but I would love to hear back from Seattle. If you're going to pull the pin on a hand grenade like that you should at least give us the satisfaction of some intelligent debate.

Merry Christmas Everyone!

He pulled the pin, but forgot to throw it. He is now in tiny pieces strewn across Southwest Florida.

Try doing the sunset run at FMB or Naples pier. You might be amazed by the scenery and the people.
I love to do all of these things, and it is precisely why I chose this area to move to. I did my homework. If you're NOT into these kinds of activities, then yes, perhaps you chose the wrong place to call home. I am usually overwhelmed on the weekends by all the choices of things to do - 'bored' is not a part of my vocabulary. Granted, Seattle this place is NOT, but personally, I'd be miserable in a place like Seattle - to each his own, I guess.

If it isnt designed and planned palms in a measured row which looks nice, its scraggly looking scrub; or if it is planned its typical store front artifices of giant air conditioned shopping strips with no history or character.
Most people have their thing...boating, fishing, equestrian, 4 wheeling, dirt biking, nature walking, kayaking, tennis, pickleball, powered parachuting, remote control boating, flying, sailing, biking, golf, gambling, shelling, painting, swinging ...and they base their life on that activity, some place to go and that's where they develop their social circle.

There are some areas that are really naturally tropical if you look for them and want that. Lee County is more comfortable than more northern counties in January, but not as expensive as Collier. You sound like you would prefer the east coast. What happened...take a wrong turn at Daytona coming down? You didn't check things out before putting down roots? Please review FAQ above on area selection.
