I used Honc Marine. I bought a 16k lb lift (almost new) on craigslist for $2,200, and Honc charged $1,000 to install it. I had a 40ft plastic dock put in, and 4 lift pilings, for around $10k. Electrician was $1,400 for lift and outlet electrical (100ft run underground to my house).

Hickcox was the cheapest of the 3 bids for ours so we went with them. They were $5000 less than one of the 3 bids even. Excellent work, done quickly. 450 sqft wrap-around dock and new 12k lift, 12 total pilings. Just under $15k total. Electrical was another $1100.

Default Looking for just the Electrician/Boat dock

We had an "ok experience" with Tropical Marine. "Big" John told us we were 4 weeks out an much to our surprise, they showed up (un-announced I might add) in only two weeks. We got them our neighbors business as well, AND another neighbor to the left of us, but were told that that job would not qualify for a referral fee because it was "too small". Still waiting on them to finish. BUT- what I need to know is who do you recommend for the electrical work. We have worked with the "big 3" as they are referred to here in the Cape, (Acra-NCS and Kirkwood) and frankly are not happy with any of their quotes. I have been told (by a marine supply co.) that because it is 'during season', any work done is much higher than during the summer. Does anyone know of a marine guy who does electric other than the big 3???
