We are looking for a reputable Realtor to help us find a rental. We have contacted some and hear what they can't do and promises that are merely lip service. We will end up buying but want to checkout the area first. Here in TX the Realtors have a multiple listing service that they can run the requirements into and come up with whats available. Can anyone represent us?

Use the internet Yellow Pages and search "property management companies Lee County Florida" or something like that. There are plenty of places down here that handle rentals, you just have to do a simple search for them.

Understand that most places here have a breed restriction and limit the number of pets you can have. (assuming you do have three dogs) So make sure right up front you tell them the number and breed of your dogs, no sense wasting your time if they won't rent to you.

If you want an excellent realtor who will help you with rentals, then check my direct message. I'm not sure we are supposed to list realtors on this forum, so will reply to you (or anyone who is interested) in a private message.

Default How to find a rental

Look at zillow.com also. Most rental places and individuals post their stuff on this site. What I mean by this is...you can contact a rental agency. They will tell you about the places they have for rent. There are many rental agencies. But they all advertise their properties on certain websites such as Zillow or Trulia or Hotpads, to name a few. So when you go to Zillow, you can search for ALL the rental properties in Cape Coral that meet your criteria. Individual owners who are renting their homes themselves without using an agency also advertise on these sites.
With an agency, I think you have more peace of mind in that you know the agency has inspected the home and it is what it is advertised as and things are working properly. This may be more important if you sign a lease for a longer amount of time, rather than just renting a vacation home for a week or so. That being said, there are other threads about people using VRBO and Craigslist and they are happy, so you may want to look at those threads for some pointers.

You can't recommend a particular RE agent here on the public forum, but you can send her a PM.
