I am visiting friends in Cape Coral in mid May.....Had been thinking of spending a couple od days snorkeling around there but have heard it is not that goods....so.....Am thinking of driving over to the Atlantic side for a couple of night......Any suggestions for one of the closest on the beach, ocean view places to stay with good body surfing...Not a crazy party place.
Apprciate any ideas

agree that it is about the worst place to snorkel. My advice would be to take the Ft Myers express catamaran to key west, I've been told a couple of the keys have very good snorkeling.

Agreed.......Catch the Key West Express in Ft. Myers.....3hrs I think to Key West, great Diving, a lot better than the Atlantic.

John Pennenkamp Coral Reef State Park
Only a three hour drive from Cape Coral and very nice snorkeling if the weather is calm. Less than an hour to Miami Beach for waves.
