Thinking of moving to Florida Ft Myers Area from Wisconsin
Hello, My husband and I are thinking of moving to Florida with our two
children ages 10 and 2. I have been viewing the real estate in Cape Coral
why are there so many homes for sales and is this a good area to live?
We really like the West coast side and need help in finding a safe and nice
area. Thank You Melissa

I would not look into Cape Coral. To me, it is overpriced for the area and getting more and more crowded by the day. The topography is so flat...most of SW Florida is flat. Why not try North Port or Punta Gorda/Port Charlotte.
These areas are more affordable right now and have alot to offer. We just sold our home but there are many more available!
The schools in Charlotte County are wonderful. They all got A's on their report cards for the year.
You can PM me if you need any other info.

You need to come here and see the area. Cape Coral is very overpriced.

Fort Myers is very overpriced. I don't know about the schools either. Sarasota Schools and Charlotte are great. I have a 3/2/2 house for sale in North Port come on down. What do you guys do for work?

Port Charlottes arguably the best deal on the southern west coast.

I agree with Mr. T.
Port Charlotte and Punta Gorda have so many nice homes at lower prices than Ft. Myers, Cape Coral, Sarasota, etc.

Overpriced
I agree the housing is overpriced. Also the Crime Rate in Ft Myers is higher than Tampa, Jacksonville, or Miami. Choose your neighborhood wisely...

Schools in Charlotte County
I would really think about moving to Port Charlotte for the schools. We moved here 2 years ago from the midwest and are moving back. The schools are not very good. Many of the children are very disrespectful and our son who is in 7th grade cannot believe all the drugs that are in their school. Honestly just because they say they are A rated doesn't really mean a lot. If you to www.schoolgrades.com you can see the rankings of the schools by state. Florida is 39th and I see why after being here. We are moving back. Yes the winters will be a little hard but it will be worth it. There are nice things about here but the bad outweighs the good from what we have seen.

We live in Ft Myers. IT is nicer than Cape Coral. Cape is a grid neighborhood. Just a bunch of houses all over the place no subdivisions. Well maybe a few. But you will have three nice homes and then the rest are not so nice or cared for. We live in an area called Gateway. We want to move, you could buy our house. It is a huge area with homes from the $300- millions. So all kinds of people live there. Our house is 3 bd 2ba. Built by Westinghouse.
