I like Gulf Middle the best but they are all good schools.

Long Island is not Lee County. That area is a bedroom to a metro area. Cape Coral is a bedroom to what? Look at the stats of the area then add in Lehigh. Retirement areas don't need alot of jobs. But all that has changed and if people don't have jobs they will find a way to get money (Crime) and that won't be good. The area can't make it flipping housing to each other. I'm not bitter towards investers,(I'm an invester in beef!) But I am towards flippers. An invester can take a loss, But a flipper just walks away. So don't think that what I post is the reason the market is so bad. The cattle market is not great either, It was the flipper that crashed your comps and the banks that gave the loans to people with no income. Now we must deal with the economic situation we have. If they wanted to get rich quick it would have been much easier to play the Lotto!

If you haven't noticed, there are a handful of people in here that ALWAYS complain about EVERYTHING. You have to learn to ignore them, but you will see it's mostly the same whiners.
Amen to that!

Cape Coral Southeast at night is so quiet, especially in the old Golf Club community. Heaven in a community!!!

SE Cape or SW Cape. Happy looking!

I think alot of people are stuck with homes in Cape Coral and can't sell them now. The negatively is just that. "There was a lot of vacant land there and a lot of people built on speculation, hoping to make some money off of it," "But instead, the market turned. You had a lot of construction workers out there and they were able to purchase a newer home, 2000 and up, and of course, a lot of them lost their jobs. It's been a spiral-down effect for everyone."

My "point" is that when somebody gave you a red mark because they said that you knew nothing about the city or whatever they said, you got mad because you knew Cape Coral inside out, but you have never lived there. Maybe you've visited, but you haven't lived there. I have, my family does, and many people on this forum do live in Cape Coral. We know Cape Coral and a lot of us like the town. If you haven't lived there, if you only visited it, you don't truly know the town. I think that, for some reason, you have a personal grudge against the city and that's why to speak neg. about it.

AMEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Good post Suncoast Guy.

Firemed, you have said over and over, you know this town inside out??? I have lived here for 4 years, and know a decent amount, but not everything... I keep to myself and stay out of the towns politics too, I don't worry about what everyone else is doing. I worry about number one and my family. I like it here, the good and bad. I guess where you live is perfect?

I've been in Cape Coral for 15+ years. It was a nice place to live and do business in when I first got here. Wasnt much to do, but that gradually changed and got better over the years. Since the foreclosure crisis came about in the last year or so, it has simply become a festering sh^#hole. The tax base is drying up because of the foreclosures, so the city has taken to raising rates on everything to make up the difference. The business licenses, the occupational licenses, and now down to roaming "wolf packs" of cops harrassing the citizenry with chicken s#^% tickets for broken tail light lenses, and lost tags on parked trailers. Anything they can shake a few hundred bucks out of someone for. Fewer and fewer places you can go where they still speak, or understand english. I had hoped to escape this hellhole this spring, but the fuel prices and a lousy business environment have made me hostage to this cesspool for a while longer. Maybe(I'm praying)I'll get out of here next spring.
Crime is spiraling upward, traffic is gridlocked, city government has their heads so far up their asses it's back on their shoulders again. Yes, no place is perfect, but many, many, MANY places are better than this hole. My .02, look elsewhere.

Ha ha ha, come on you should know that the cop presence in CC has nothing to do with recent foreclosures. As a former CCHS student learning to drive/growing up in CC they were always notorious with the ticky tack fines. They have always done it from the sprinklers/water restrictions to the signs on trucks.

Agree on everything else though!
