I'll review the comments (if any) on your red mark.
All,
Please don't use the negative replies because you disagree with the poster.
Our opinions on a location or issue are just that, opinions. Highly subjective. Personal preferences. Quirks, even. Leave wiggle room for dialogue, others may not see things the same as you, or been there as long as you, and any one of us can be wrong. Pouncing on someone you disagree with runs contrary to the spirit of this board and its members. We are here to help each other.
Do not give negative ratings to posts that you simply disagree with or your own reputation will be downgraded. Negative ratings should be reserved for posts that are spammy, off-topic, flames, or don't contribute anything.

Well yea you can. Port Saint Lucie and Coral Springs . Although recent 2007 data has Coral Springs still at #1, Pembroke Pines at #2, and Boca Raton at #3. Wonder where Cape Coral is this year. Wish I could find the link.
I, for one, don't think Cape Coral is that bad. I would just blow my brains out of boredom there. Fort Myers area has a strange feeling to me thats kind of intangible.

My Reply to firemed, basically...

Yes, I have heard about the grow house busts, but I would rather have a few grow houses then meth labs any day.
City of Cape Coral (broken link)

My family in Cape Coral has lived there as well for 12 years +. They still feel safe. No offense firemed, but I wonder if you are posting negative posts about Cape Coral simply because you don't like it. Some people on here speak highly about the Cape. Forum people on news-press.com also speak highly of the Cape. If Latin Gangs are becoming a problem in Cape Coral, they are probably on the North End of the City, I hear that's where the (no offense) Black's and Mexican's live. Black (African Americans) pose no problem to me, but the Mexican's (Mexican's) are the main percentage of gangs these days (or at least they are here in Manatee County.) My aunt lives in the Southeast part of the Cape, as well as my other aunt. My cousin lives in Southeast Cape. They have no problems. Yes, firemed, I know that all of Cape has crime, I read your posts in other Cape forums where you were agruing with another forum member, but I tend to disagree with that. "thebigr" said that with increased pop., crime will go up, that's true. And, those ratings for safest cities are a crock of crap in my opinion. That would be like me going to a state that I have never been in and saying that this towns an "A", this town's a "D", you need to look more at the facts, not the ratings, and the facts, dispite what people might say including you firemed, is that even though the crime in the Cape has gone up, the pop. has also gone up, so the city can still be considered safe. When I visit Cape, I go to the Coral Point Mall, and the Coralwood Mall, I walk around, visit stores, and I might even sit on one of the benches. I'm not afriad that I'll get blown into a thousand pieces, because I don't think it will happen. Plus, I have found some nice people also walking around that mall as well. If you want to leave Cape Coral firemed, I suggest coming to Bradenton. Gangs, crime and drugs is our motto. After visiting Bradenton, you might want to go back to Cape Coral. Bradenton makes me want to move back to my hometown of Orlando.
My Point: I still think that the town has good.

Based on what you quoted it would seem so... Otherwise speaking of "here" when he isn't "here" wouldn't make much sense.....

Now, I don't live in Cape Coral now, but 2 years ago I was there. I can tell you from personal experience that the Cape is a nice town. Yes, I still visit. 2 of my aunts still live there, and they are in paradise.
If your looking into Cape Coral, DO IT!! The town is great, and don't let these people tell you the towns bad, because if you google Cape Coral, you'll find the facts.. the town is safe.
