That's actually a year old. I can't find the new one now (morgan-quitno doesn't want to release it for free) but a news story a while ago (That was deleted off the Miami Herald website) showed where FL cities ranked. I think it went Coral Springs which was in the higher teens nationally this year (instead of #10), PSL fell off the list due to incomplete data, and that made Pembroke Pines second, Boca Raton third, and Davie fourth.

Yes, I have heard about the grow house busts, but I would rather have a few grow houses then meth labs any day.

"If you do read on the murders, they know their attacker it isn't random".
Now I don't know, but if someone will murder a person they know, don't you think there is a small chance that they would kill someone they don't know?
Oh and we do have meth labs, (or had, we don't know until its found or explodes) If you smell what you think is cat pee, It may be a meth lab! Cape Coral is doing the best they can with what they have.

Default Cape Coral, Florida

Life is what you make it - If you complain all the time, no matter where you live, you will miss out.

Cape Coral is a wonderful place to live - We no longer have to cross the bridge to shop.

The weather is beautiful year round here. I am looking out on the river right now, sun is sparkling off the water, wind is slightly blowing the palm trees, my sliders are all open on the water side and my husband is getting the boat ready to take friends out to lunch. How can you beat that.

The ranking from the Morgan Quitno Press is based on six different categories of crimes: murder, rape, robbery, aggravated assault, burglary and motor vehicle theft.

In total, 371 cities were ranked and Coral Springs ended up as number ten. Saint Lucie was second best in the Sunshine State and had a national ranking of #25.

Orlando, West Palm Beach and Miami showed up on the low end of the scale. Miami was ranked #327, West Palm checked in at #344 and Orlando had the lowest “safety” ranking in the state coming it at #347 out of 371. But Tampa and Miami were also singled out for showing substantial improvement compared to last year’s ranking.

Here are the Morgan Quitno “Safe City” rankings for Florida towns:

#59 – Pembroke Pines
#87 – Davie
#89 – Sunrise
#90 – Cape Coral

#311 – Pompano Beach
#316 – Tampa
#319 – Miami Beach
#323 – Saint Petersburg
#327 - Miami
#339 – Miami Gardens
#344 – West Palm Beach
#347 – Orlando
Why is it that anyone that challenges you , you come out with the good luck with your investment's stuff ? I have been on this forum for over a year and the one thing that has not changed is you. I'll give you that you dont waiver on your opinion. But you should be more open to other peoples opinions. You obviously are in some sort of emergency services, I thought you were in fort meyers though ? I could be wrong . Anyway you see the worst in that line of work. I will bet all over the country if you ask an emt or cop they will tell the same stories. You sound bitter towards investers, alot of people tried making money during the houseing boom , that is the american way . You also have lived there all your life and dont like the changes, sorry everywhere has changed in 45 years, where I live on long island has changed and believe me I wish it could be like when I was growing up. My home town was a small country town , now crime is up and there is to many people. Do I feel unsafe? no. take care and be more open not everyone is an invester

I don't live in Cape Coral and never did. I have a cattle ranch, you won't find too much cattle in Cape Coral! "good luck with your investment's" Look how old this topic is and look at the mess this county is in now. An invester is one thing, But the 0% down flipper caused this mess. Long Island is not Lee County. That area is a bedroom to a metro area. Cape Coral is a bedroom to what? Look at the stats of the area then add in Lehigh. Retirement areas don't need alot of jobs. But all that has changed and if people don't have jobs they will find a way to get money (Crime) and that won't be good. The area can't make it flipping housing to each other. I'm not bitter towards investers,(I'm an invester in beef!) But I am towards flippers. An invester can take a loss, But a flipper just walks away. So don't think that what I post is the reason the market is so bad. The cattle market is not great either, It was the flipper that crashed your comps and the banks that gave the loans to people with no income. Now we must deal with the economic situation we have. If they wanted to get rich quick it would have been much easier to play the Lotto!

I'm not negative or bashing Cape Coral, but I do care about the area, This area has been hit very hard. Its a nice place to live, But for the most part we have a mess to deal with. I never said I lived in Cape Coral and I don't think I ever will, Little lots just don't appeal to me and as a 8th generation native I just look at it a little different. And yes, you are right the economic mess is everywhere. But we can't blame the media or people that seen this coming. I just don't see a quick fix, But I try to tell the other side of paradise.
This was Cape Coral at the Rose Gardens, This was how they got people to the area to sell them land.
