We are permanent, retired residents of Raleigh, NC and we are interested in renting a small home or condo in the CC area next winter. Several years ago, We did a 3 month home exchange in a canal home in SE Cape Coral and truly enjoyed ourselves.

We are only slightly familiar with the area, but know we want to be able to rent a boat (we had a great experience with Boats and Fun ) and wat to be with 30 of
Diamond Billiards. We also have a small dog, outstanding credit and references, and only need 2 bedrooms.

I know about CL and vrbo - the prices of the latter are surprisingly high, and the formet is always a risk. Also, I'd much rather personally view the rental, making one trip down thetre this summer to explore for next winter rental.

How does one go about this?

I'd start looking through the local real estate listings. I know several of the agencies on Pine Island also handle rentals, both long term and vacation.

I'm not quite as sure about those in Cape Coral. There are dozens of vacation rental agencies, most, though, seem to be weekly rentals.
