I'm thinking of moving to the area and wonder what rates are and what kind of dwelling you have, single family, etc, and the approx square footage.

That's a good deal, I'm looking at a small 900 sq foot concrete block home With 300 sq foot back porch and enclosed carport in Fort Myers, and was quoted $1250.00 and it's not near the water. It's older from 1965 maybe that's why it's high.

Ha! Yep Triple A! We checked with other places and were shocked at how much more expensive they were. We have went through them for over 3 years.

First off..do you plan on owning or renting..Huge difference..because owning includes whole home not just contents...

I happen to own..and pay 190.00 a year..course I don't happen to have flood or hurricane insurance..But it does cover flooding in if caused by say, a broken dishwasher..or washing machine. It doesn't cover cause of flood/ by nature, but does cover direct affects of the flooding by outside intrusions such as burglar..or human factors... Then, of course it does cover contents if say my house burnt down including cost to replace..say IF my neighbours house on fire caused my house to become involved....

Boy, some of the quote's I read here just make me wonder about Insurance Companies?????????? I've heard throughout my life..There's sometimes you can become "Insurance Poor" when one tried to Insurance Every single possibility in life" So guess you have to look at what risk you have to consider????
