There's a new subdivision called Moody River Estates that would be worth looking into because I believe the housing is somewhat affordable and there's an elementary school across the street (Hancock Creek Elementary). It's been an A school for the last 5 years. In fact, almost any street on that side of Orange Grove Blvd. wouldn't be bad to live on. It's a pretty nice neighborhood.
Thank you;I will do that!

FYI..When we were considering building in Deep Creek (which was in '07), the fence restrictions were 4'...
The plus with some of the areas in PC were that there were no deed restrictions.
But, there is a dog park in PG off of Henry ST

LewLew, you have been talking for months, quick dragging it out and get down here. Lakeside has some beautiful homes, the schools are developing quickly, it's about a quarter mile from 75 (Ft. Myers is only a hop, skip and jump away), and I hear there is a great family just moved there! We couldn't have been happier with our decision, we have actually started to look at some of the homes in the area to buy after our lease is up. Good luck to ya, I'll be the waving as you drive by!!

Yes, I was told it's still 4'. I think it's open 4' as well. That won't work for us...while our dogs are friendly...if they see someone hanging out right next door, they will want to play, bark and meet them. That would be annoying to me, and the neighbors.

I KNOW!!!!!!!!!!! Well, we may have a couple offers coming on our home here, which is the actual hold up. Also, the curve ball of the Ft myers thing. I'll be honking while you are waving! We'll be in Lakeside Saturday about 11am....be mowing your lawn when I come through (oh wait..you don't have to do that in Lakeside)

I hear you on the house thing, still waiting to sell our's up in Maryland, may end up renting it out. Took a nice little jog through some of the areas Shannon mentioned, they seem pretty nice. I may not be waving, still trying to catch my breath, a little out of shape from those cold months up north!

I checked out Moody River this past weekend. It's not for us, as they do not allow any fences on property..but it might be good place for condo/villa for my mom. Thanks for the info! We found one house we liked in Lochmoor, on the "being rebuilt" El Rio golf course.

LOL We are still trying to decide between Ft. Myers and NP. While Ft. Myers is close enough...and the housing is MUCH better in NP, the thought of my hubby driving 100 miles round trip every day, plus driving for work....just wrenches my gut. While I want to be the selfish one, and live near all of our family.....he has to be happy for me to be happy. He says he'll do it, but my fear is 6 month in...he'll be saying "what did I do", and then what? We can't rent first due to having multiple dogs.....so I'm stressing. Shannon is great, and we found 2 homes we'd buy in a heartbeat if we could just decide already!

Off Birkdale? That's a pretty nice neighborhood! Lots of pedestrians! (Always a mark of a good place to me)

Yes, off Birkdale. A little further down by Prestwick Ct etc. I loved all the palms, and it looked as though MOST folks cared well for their property. There were some kids riding bikes, loads of dog walkers, and some joggers. I was there on a Saturday!
