My friend lives on a cup-de-sac in a deed restricted community. I had parked my car (with handicap placard) on the side of the road (not blocking anyone or anything) for the night. In the morning, my car was gone. I thought it had been stolen but found out that it had been towed in the middle of the night. I had no idea who towed it or where to find it. The offices were closed (it was the weekend) and there was nothing posted on the locked doors of the clubhouse. After hours of calling people, my friend eventually found out where I could get my car. Isn't there a rule/law/statute or something that the association has to do so I could find the car?

A simple answer to your question? No. The association doesn't know you, therefore they have no obligation to you. Your friend, however should be well versed in the community rules and should've told you that you were illegally parked.

As for the towing info, that's usually posted at the entrance as a convenience, but it's not required by law.

I'm sure you were a bit freaked when you got up and your car was gone!
