My husband has 2 career opportunities coming into play over the next 2 weeks. One being in South Florida area (Vero Beach down to Miami, FL) and the other possibly Dallas, TX. I need Pros and Cons. I do know that it is brutally hot during the Summer in Dallas, TX and we did spend time there 2 years ago for 2 years and really had a tough time adjusting from NC. I did live in Pompano Beach, FL in my 20's and loved the weather, but do remember there being some humid months, congested and crazy traffic. Now I need to consider raising our daughter there and not sure of the private schools. She would need small Student-Teacher Ratio. Has Boca really transitioned to a younger age group?

We currently live in Deerfield beach which is right by boca and are in boca all the time! For kids there are tons to do! And although there are a lot of older people and snow birds, boca has a younger crowd as well. For us as a family we are trying to relocate to the southwest of Florida Cape Coral area. Let me know what you specifically need to know about boca I'll gladly answe anything I can.

I think you clicked on the wrong section. Ft. Myers is across the peninsula from Boca Raton.

We lived in Dallas area some 30 years before moving to Florida 2 years ago. Here is my 2 cents.

Overall quality of life is better down here. Education, job prospects, concerts, etc will be better in Dallas but you are dealing with a 9 million population density, with all the traffic that goes with it.
