Talking some people are not cut out for Fla.

I with ya on that one! Every day is a good day. Every day has a nice sunset.
When we get a cloudy day, it's so rare that we enjoy that to. Up North is always a crap shoot. You can't plan anything because the weather may change and ruin your plans. Down here, If we want to go to Disney, we go. No big deal, the weather always cooperates....

The person who said we only have 3-4 months good weather only likes a max of 72 deg. I think the opposite. I think of the Fla summer as I would think of winter up north. The time to slow down, stay inside more.. We have Mid Oct to Mid June and that is about 8 months of beautiful weather 65-80 avg.

The humidity months for me are Mid-June to Mid Oct. but I like it for the most part. Shorts, flip flops and aloha shirts. 65% of the people are gone, I can get great food for cheap with no wait. I can swim, boat everyday. You just need to dance around the rain now and then.

Now Sept will drive you a little nutty cause you are wondering when is the humidity going to end? I now miss swimming ( I need a pool heater ) and want that heat back.....

Most people hate FLA for other reasons but weather ain't one of them.

You think Fort Myers is bad? You obviously have never been to northern New Jersey.

Fort Myers may look ****ty in some areas, but I've definitely seen worse.

Nothing compares to Fort Myers. I wouldn't wish that area of SW FL on my worst enemy.

Sun sets everywhere. I could care less if I ever step foot in SW FL again.

To each their own.

Funny, My neighboorhood here is very nice. No gangs, high taxes, grow houses. Just a nice middle class neighboorhood with houses from $140k-$225k. We also border 2 gated communities ranging from $300k-$1m. Most areas of Cape Coral I have seen in the past 4 years of living here are the same. Where do you people live?

Just last month, 7 grow houses in Lehigh were busted. It made the local news plus CNN. lLast month a visitor at a Holiday Inn on FM Beach got robbed by 4 guys who busted down his door.

Fort Myers/CC/LA are not downtown Detroit or southside of Chicago.

But to pretend that there are no grow houses or crime in that area is not true.

News Press gives out the addresses of the grow houses that have been busted. It's an eye opener.

If you want to meet people your own age, I recommend a couple places. First would be Pearl Lounge. It is an ultra lounge that recently opened up off of Cape Coral Pkwy. in the south section of the city. It has an Asian flair. It's a very popular place with live bands until midnight and a DJ until 2 AM. Second would be Blu Sushi. Never been there myself but I heard that it has a younger crowd. I heard this is where the Yuppys (sp?) hang out. Downtown Ft. Myers has a couple places. Neo Lounge, Level, EnVie, Indigo Room, City Tavern, and Skybar come to mind. I've never been to any of them. Radio stations will have block parties sometimes. There is Dwyer's which is an upscale restaurant/lounge with an Irish theme. There are places on Ft. Myers Beach where young people hangout. If you look for the young crowd, you will find them.

Ft Myers is okay as is Cape Coral.. This foreclosure mess is now reaching it's peak. Something like 2k new filings a month in the county is astounding and would amount to 1 in 10 existing homes in foreclosure in a year.. Bargains galore for those looking..hell for the speculators and buyers of the bubble years who need to get out.. Local economy will come roaring back better than ever in 2-3 years..

Default Fort Myers

haha.. geez.. go to a website http://www.ypfl.com has over 700 "young" members, fun group, networking events, etc~
I've been a part of it for 4 years now~

Best place to live is: South Fort Myers, there's many condo's you can find for rent under $1,000 right now in the South Fort Myers area~ as for the salary you are requesting, its very reasonable, you shouldnt have a problem getting something in that range~ everyone is so negative right now about Florida, its funny~ I love it, have many friends in the area, there's lots for us to do, and have a great job here~ hope this helps~ WW

My favorite places to go are Cru, Char Grill (new) , Blu Sushi, Bistro 41, Envie Lounge, Level Nightclub, and Venu (new) in Fort Myers~
Pearl Lounge (new) is fun if your in Cape Coral~ Beautiful Place~

Dwyers is now closed, but it will be re-opening as a steak house/fine dining restaurant~ The beach is fun, mainly on Sunday, many people meet behind Lani Kai on Sunday, from their boats or just driving, its a BIG hangout on Sunday~ Anything else as mentioned above are much fun too, and I have been to all of them

They have all kinds of events downtown, from bike nights- car shows- art festivals, and radio's always do LIVE REMOTE'S from different clubs, which bring the crowds~

this saturday in fact is a big ART event downtown starting at 4:00~ and I they do those every now and then~

We just had our "taste of the town" this November and many restaurants came out downtown and had booths where you could taste their food, drinks, etc, they had over 10 bands, dj's in some part, and it was a lot of fun
