I'd say look at Fort Myers, Cape Coral, & then Estero in that order.
Nope. I would go Estero, then Cape Coral and Fort Myers, which I would avoid at all costs.

Of course, I would avoid all of Lee County, unless I was a rich retiree, and with the problems of foreclosure, and crime that has come from those abandoned homes, I would probably avoid the entire area.

Rent may be cheaper, as well as homes, but jobs still do not support the prices.

Hello Friends,
It seems that there are quite a few income restricted apt complexes in Ft. Myers area!
any suggestions on how to find regular apt complexes?

Really? Seems that drug addicts in those abandoned homes are causing quite a problem. Not to mention that they are unsightly.

A lot has changed in five years. Cape Coral was named the highest for foreclosures, this past week. It puts a new spin on living there.

Cape Coral is housing bust ground zero.

There is a reason for that.

I'll leave it that. You might want to think about the move.

Most of Florida is income restricted when it comes to apartment complexes. I have first hand experience, I have been in apartment management for 13 years. I will NOT work or live at an income restricted property. They are full of "undesirable" people. I would rent from a private owner, look at duplexes. I am renting a 3 year old, beautiful house for $875, 3 bedroom, 2 bath, 2 car garage. You just have to look around. Look past all the negativity on here too, some people are just unhappy, you have to see for yourself. I would not look into Fort Myers, unless it were south of Paige field like another person said. Estero is nice, san carlos park is too. have you visited this area???

I visited Ft. Myers in 2004. And it was a brief stay of three days. Didn't get to really discover much.
