The Ranch is that new nightclub on Colonial Blvd next to Page Field. It is practically the best place in Southwest Florida to party, dance, and socialize. And at the same time, the crowds there are sparse at The Ranch, and at the same time heavy over at Dixie Roadhouse.

Some comparisons between The Ranch and Dixie Roadhouse;

The Ranch;
The DJ there takes requests. Though it is a country club like Dixie Roadhouse, if you wanted to hear classic 80s or 90s rock and roll, spanish music, R&B music, or even a slow song, you simply go up to the DJ booth and request it. And the DJ will pretty much play anything except maybe rap/hip hop.

Dixie Roadhouse;
The DJ does not take requests at all and will not play requested songs. Also, the DJ is even forbidden by the owners of Dixie to accept and play songs requested by club patrons and is under orders to play only the assigned song list of the night.

The Ranch;
Huge, spacious dance floor. Cleaner than Dixie, too.

Dixie Roadhouse;
Not quite as clean. Dance floor is smaller and people often spill drinks on the floor.

The Ranch;
Perimeter of dance floor has stools which make for great people watching while sitting down.

Dixie Roadhouse;
No stools or chairs around the perimeter of the dance floor. People on the outer perimeter must stand up.

I really don't get it. A nightclub that has a DJ that takes requests (Spanish music, classic rock, slow songs, etc) and has seats around the perimeter ought to draw a really heavy crowd.

Maybe the drinks are better or cheaper at Dixie? Aren't they now open till 3 or 4 a.m.? Maybe the people in Cape Coral don't want to go over the bridge to The Ranch? Maybe they each appeal to a different clientele? Maybe you should do a survey next time you're at both of them.

If it does not meet the needs of the area, economics will win out and something will replace it that wont even remotly reflect what is gone

Somehow, the world will survive

As someone who frequented night spots 6 nights a week in my younger days, there were always clubs that had a certain vibe and appeal. Nothing you could put your finger on, maybe the patrons, maybe the location, maybe the feel of the place, but some places were a hit and some were a miss.

I really don't know anything about the clubs you mentioned, but I suspect the factors I stated play into why some people go to one place a lot and avoid the other. A club has to feel good and make you want to go and keep going back.

What is the smoking situation at both places? I thought I heard that at least one of them allowed smoking...?

A lot of people like the 'vibe" of the 47th Terrace area in Cape Coral where Dixie Roadhouse is located. You also have several other places very close by that you can walk to in a couple minutes BackStreets, Big Blue Brewing, Nevermind, The Hop, Ralph's, Cork Soakers, ReMixx, Dek Bar, Nice Guys, Monkey Bar, Paradise Tiki Hut, the new Rusty's location, and more are all very close to Dixie Roadhouse Take Uber to one of them, and you can easily walk to all the rest for a big bar crawl, if you want. The Ranch does not have all that nearby. From the Ranch, you can walk to Wawa, Hooters, 7-Eleven, and Chuck E. Cheese. Which area would you want to spend your night out with friends? When we go out with friends, it's rare for us to spend the night out in one place. We like to hop around a bit. "Barhop". Cape Coral's 47th Terrace area (and a few surrounding streets) is ideal for that.

Wow, Thanks for the review of the vibe in Cape Coral. Yes I can see how the places listed are all together and the Ranch is across the bridge. Thanks for the long list of places to visit.

OP.

Nobody slow dances in the United States of America anymore. And neither does anyone do that "grind" or "juke" dancing in the United States of America anymore. Line dancing is popular nationwide because it allows people to keep their 6 feet of personal space and then some between strangers. Americans are hateful and paranoid of strangers. If you look closely, you will see that 95-99% of all line dancers at Dixie Roadhouse, as well as at all country-themed nightclubs in the United States, are women. American women hate men by default, and they want to maintain their ice barriers towards all strangers, especially men. American women today don't want guys dancing with them, seeing their faces, or grinding on them; today, that kind of dancing, along with slow dancing, is now considered s.a. in the United States. They want to see only backs of fellow dancers. They know that if everyone is shifting front to back and side to side like a battering ram, freestyle dancers will not go on the dance floor lest they get knocked to the floor by a collision with a line dancer, so in other words, line dancing is a "shield" that keeps all strangers at bay.
