Yes, it's about 10-15 degrees warmer down here in the winter than it is in the Orlando area. We're in a different climate zone. Why? Ya got me! It could be the breezes or whatever, but I'm sure if you did some research on the weather channel or something, they'd tell you.

. I hope the mods let that go thru.

Again, good luck. Feel free to DM me.
hi nomoresnow...thanks for the temp. clarification.. partly , the winter temp. difference is due to Orlando being about 100 miles NE of Tampa.. anyhoo ....thanks for the realtors phone # ..
my account can now do DM'ing..

.. just to make you happy about your decision to move to the Ft.M area , i'm having to have heating on in my house right now , as it's only 42 degrees F outside !! , although , all the snow on the ground has melted ... the sump pump in the basement is going-on like crazy.... oh , by the way , do homes in your area have basements ?? ... cheers

Have you checked out Jacksonville? It's less humid than Florida cities farther south and it has some real trees and seasonal changes. It's one of the safest cities in Florida as far as hurricanes go and it has a nice beach. I'm thinking it my suit you very well. Best wishes finding your place in the sun!

Good morning! I just sent you a DM. You should see it pop up on your screen.

Not to rub it in, but it's going to be mid 80's here today.

Default Jacksonville?

Jacksonville?
Not likely unless you like snow in the winter. It gets very cold up there.

My suggestion is to get as far south...as your money will afford you.

Snow? Oh my goodness, it would be cool if it snowed here in Jax, but it really doesn't. There was a day where there was some powder back in the 1980's and it was a major news event !

We have a "winter" of sorts where it gets cold enough that you'd need a jacket or at least some good layers, but it's summer most of the year here .

We live ina 55+ gated community and really enjoy it - lots of things to do, no lawn mowing, etc. But if you move to a gated community, there are rules to live by, so if you don't like rules, stay away from those types of places.

We find it's actually less expensive for us to live down here, since we don't have to pay for heat. That's a biggy for us. Plus, we downsized a bit and went from two cars to one, that sort of thing.

This past winter was one of the warmer ones around here. I would say we had fewer than 10 days altogether that were below 80 degrees. It was quite pleasant most of the winter - low 80's, low humidity. This past week, we've had summer-like weather - upper 80's, rain every afternoon, but I understand that April is not usually like that.

I wish you the best in your search. Let us know if you have any other questions.
Are you in a golfing community? Any housing around 300M? I'd appreciate your input. We are in Flagler County and I don't like our small non 55 year community.
Thanks Flaglerwrangler

Hey, Flaglerwrangler. I just DM'd you.

Yes, we are in a golfing community. In fact, the first question when you meet someone here is, "Do you golf?" quickly followed by "Do you gamble?" DH and I do neither! LOL

What is it you don't like about your community, if I may ask?
