Default Moving to N. Ft. Myers (Pine Lakes)

What a great forum!

I'm really psyched. Hubby and I are fortunate enough that we can retire in our mid 50's and have bought a place in a relatively inexpensive gated community called Pine Lakes. This is a big step for us, since we've both lived in Northern New York (read Canadian Border) towns our entire lives, but good friends live there and enticed us.

Anybody got any helpful hints? Thanks!

Bought in Pine Lakes two years ago and will "snow bird" it in another three years (when I can retire). Nicely kept place but it is not cheap with the lot rental fee and the yearly "pass-through" charges. Good luck with your new home.

Pine Lakes is on the very north end of Lee County. Thats a very nice area with much of everything you need right there. Fire and EMS, Publix, and lots of shops are right there also. I golf there somtimes and its very nice.

Hi, folks. Glad to hear some nice words about it and to meet a new neighbor. Yes, the pass thru rather stinks, but the homeowners assoc. is working on at least part of it. Would you mind if I PM you, gesh50?

Default thinking of buying

My husband and I are thinking of buying in Pine Lakes, Fort Meyers. Can you enlighten me on the average lot fee. What is the yearly pass-through charge for and how much is it? Feel free to give me anyother feedback on this area.
Thanks...

Did you buy? Avg fee depends on your view (water/golf), and how often the lot turned over ownership. Pass thru charges generally equal another months rental fee (or a little more).

No problem, gesh. FYI - I'm moving down for good around 7/21. Can't wait!
