Hard to say because we don't know the places you're looking at, can ya give us a price range? Are you looking to be close to anything in particular like schools, work, etc etc.

on word for Noahs landing. NO NO NO NO NO!!!!!!!!! Cross it off your list and look the other way.. My husband (what was a 911 dispatcher in Naples) would get weekly calls of car break ins, drug deals, and had a foot pursuit in there a couple times. I'm not sure on your price range but try The Oasis on Airport Rd. They're nice.. I've heard of wild pines but I dunno much about them.. Have you gone to apartmentraitings.com and check out some of the opinions on apartment complexes in Naples?

Yikes!

No to both places. Ghetto wrapped in pretty pictures.

The Oasis should be OK. They were originally apartments that went condo during the frenzy. The slump hit and now they are back to renting.

Decent apartments are hard to come by in Naples-many are ghetto. You might consider renting a condo. It would help if we had more information-kids, job, spouse, etc.

Tara-Wild Pines are in the Linwood/Shadowlawn area.

Sanibel- Been living here for 8 years, full time with family. No bad areas, just really areas of preference, beach, golf, tennis, easy on/off island, boating etc. We like living near the beach and school for kids.

AHH okay yes now I know they were so familar but I couldn't picture it... stay away is correct.. It would help to know your renting amount.. Condos are nice to rent. I rented at The Reserve at Naples and LOVED it there. It was gated and had lots of ammenities.. It all depends on the $ you want to spend. At this point you might even be able to get in on a home for rent. Let us know some figures so we can help you more.

Isn't it hard/impossible to get a job on sanibel and the bridge to get on and off is something like $6. I always thought sanibel an retirement/vacation place when I would visit.

Thank you so much all of you. I have looked at the apartment review site actually thats where I found those two apartments. I have spoken to someone with a house in cape coral on se 8th ave. Just one adult until my husband joins me when our house is sold in Illinois. Only son grown and lives in chicago Will be working at hospital in Ft. myers. Spending up to 900.00, less is better. Also have been told that if you rent a place that is used for tourists during season you have to pay taxes on top of the rent...is that right? Thank you so much...

Well, if the owner who you are renting from wants you to pay their taxes for them, yes.

Most do put in some sort of amount into the overall rent in order to offset the prop tax.

Unless the owner actually paid off the property, they have a mortgage & your rent check is paying that monthly payment. Most, if not all, mortgages have the tax already included in the price.

Is it something that has to be forced on you? Not at all.

There is so much excess inventory right now & so many desperate people needing to rent b/c they cannot sell that you should be able to find what you need at the cost you want.

When we lived in SWFL, we rented a condo listed at $400k for $1100/mn to include water & cable. The owner was willing to take anything in order to help offset her mortgage payment. We know for a fact that she didn't have that property paid off & was sweating bullets b/c she had a few other properties.

Make sure you keep researching. There are homes galore for rent on Cape Coral. Do lots & lots of researching & bid low
