Default 23 yr old moving to Ft Myers area?

Hey everyone, I am 23 year old guy from long island. I may have a job down in fort myers and i was wondering what you all thought about the city for young people. What places to live etc. I also heard Sarasota is a nice younger area as well. I see that it is about an hour away which is not that bad as the commute in NY is even worse. Thanks everyone!

Default Estero

Estero is a very nice area. FGCU is located here and it is in between Naples and Ft Myers. I'm 25 and there are plenty of places and things to do. You just have to know where to go. I actually have a 2/2 plus den corner unit condo for sale close to all these places. Let me know if interested

Sarasota would be to far to drive if you work in Ft. Myers.

Take my word for it...commuting to work for an hour a day...each way is like having a second job...it gets worse if you have pets...then you are gone for 10 to 12 hours a day....just imagine squeezing your legs together for that long....get a place close to work...spend the money on rent and not gas...at least this way...you will have more time for your self...and you will get to the beach a little more often....

Yes, great advice. Also, I wonder if Sarasota is more expensive.

Estero, even with the college kids, can be kind of sleepy with lots of snowbirds, but it is a decent area and it is not that far to the beach and downtown.

Fort Myers Beach is a nice "younger" beach, and Estero is close to it. I do the hour commute now and would rther save the gas money and time. I did an hour up north too so I am not complaining, but if I could choose it would be less. I like where I live and like where I work so the commute is something I can live with. Also, during on-season a Sarasota to Fort Myers commute is bad.
