I have heard that there is some kind of unspoken fued or rivalry between people who live in cape coral vs. people who live in Fort Myers. What is the deal with that?

I've lived here 4 years and have never heard of a "rival."

I have been here 6 years and heard of no rivalry. Some people are like "I don't go across the bridge" but that never seemed like a rivalry, just obtuseness.

I'd consider it a "passionate preference". My cousin moved down here three years after I got here. He moved to CC becasue that's where I was. He couldnt stand it, but was just fine with Ft Myers. And vise versa, I couldnt live in Ft Myers, just the way things are laid out. CC stinks anymore, but I'd still rather live in the Cape than any where else in SW Florida. But nobody's beating anybody up over it on the streets ![]() |
