Default would you hire this mover?

I recently contracted a mover through uShip.com to move me from SW Florida to New York State, approx. 1,300 miles. A few of the bids were $2,300; this particular mover bid $2,000. He is a new company out of Atlanta, does not have any references through the uShip website, utilizes a business name that I cannot seem to find via any Internet searches. It is his plan to rent a 26' Penske truck for the move of my 3/2 home. He has sent me copies of his and his employee's driver's licenses and I can purchase full coverage insurance for $20/day through Penske. We have spoken a few times on the phone & emailed back & forth approx. 8 times. I need to move at or around the end of this month/beginning of June and have concerns about this mover - any thoughts or suggestions?

If he is a business out of Atlanta, have you tried the Georgia Sec'y of State website? I would also contact the Better Business Bureau.

Personally, I would be a little bit nervous about it, and would probably spend the extra $300, to have someone I could track information on and know for sure they were insured and bonded, but that is just me

Nope. Do you really want to entrust someone with your valuables who can provide no references nor can you find any info on them. BBB is a good suggestion though some times not all businesses are tracked through BBB.

We used 22' w/ UPack/ABF & were extremely pleased. Moved from SWFL to NEOH. Stuff left on a Wed & was there by Fri.
