Question Boy do I need a change of scenery but where?

Hi folks! I live in Virginia Beach Va and I,m ready to move! I've lived here since 85 and it hasn't grown on me yet so.....I love the country life my boyfriend won't be happy unless it's over 60 in January. What a delemma this has been! So I'm looking for advice on places in florida (he is hinting Fort myers but anything in Florida will do for him) but I'm also not wanting a huge city life. Time to simplify and relax (affordably of course since my job will change). Any suggestions???

Well, the Naples/Estero/Ft Myers area is good. Very nice and very cheap to buy right now.

Well I have 2 girl already graduated but one may come with. My boyfriend has a terminal at Fort Myers, one of the reasons we are considering the area and I'm not quite sure how my job will work out with the geographical change so I may be in the job market. I do have two dogs that I won't get rid of so renting an apartment will be tough. I'd like an affordable area with my job uncertainty but in a fairly "decent" area. I think if we rent for a year we'll get a feeling of where we want to buy after that. Any help would be appreciated......

I live in Naples so can't give alot of advice about where to live in Fort Myers. I will say that there will be plenty of places to rent and I'm sure you could find a home that will allow pets.

Someone else here can give more specific areas to consider. We also need to know your definition of "affordable".

Fort Myers traffic can be horrible so I would start with a place near the terminal where your bf will work.

Great! That's exactly what I want to know. I need cold hard honest truth that you can't get from the visitors webpages. I'm more of a North Carolina person myself and worried about giving up my job for this move. I can keep my job and transfer to NC. They have a couple of terminal for his job there too. He just has his mind set to go back to south florida.
JSnFl hit my worry right on the head with giving up a great paying job to start looking in the want ads and not even knowing if I like it!!!!
