I find this post a bit alarmist and exaggerated. I know the area has some problems, but to say there are NO jobs....(as in 100% unemployment??) and MOST houses are foreclosed, (like in 51% or more??) and EVERYONE is leaving, (so it is now a ghost town with palm tumbleweeds in the streets?) is a bit of an overstatement....., IMHO.

It IS a bit of an overstatement. I was just recently in Cape Coral. Only saw 1 house in foreclosure, and houses that one point were for sale were sold!

And I live in Cape Coral full time, I see a LOT of houses foreclosed around here, houses that have been for sale for over a year. There are jobs, but the pickins are slim unless you are in healthcare. Even retail jobs are not hiring, they are cutting hours and putting hring freezes on. Also I do see many moving trucks in yards and they are not taking off, they are putting on... It's not a ghost town by any means, but there are a lot of people leaving the area, and state.

What I was saying was that the last time I was in Cape Coral (July 4th weekend) I saw 1 house in foreclosure in the Golf Club, and a lot that were for sale in The Golf Club were sold. Since you do not currently live in Cape Coral, I would suggest NOT attacking other peoples observations, OBSERVATIONS! Not fact, observation. I didn't say that was fact, it was what I saw. I'm sure that there are a lot of homes in foreclosure, it's the times, I realize that, and I didn't visit a lot of Cape Coral, just the SE part. This is a forum, not a "I'm right" place, I know I'm not 100% right, it was a fact that I saw when I was down there. OK? Not trying to be mean or nasty, just very frustating when somebody is so nasty and they think there right, they have to push it in somebody elses face.

I have been in Lee County all my life. No I don't live in Cape Coral but I know what the market is like. I'm sorry if the numbers make you upset but thats what was listed today. Sorry if you feel I'm nasty or bashing.

The numbers don't make me upset, I realize the situation we are all in, but I don't like being mocked- "This is funny "- Everybody was their facts, their views, their opinions. That was my facts, that's what I saw a week and a half ago.
