Default Home Owners Insurance...

going up? I got my renewal last week and mine has gone up $800. Almost everyone I have talked to said that there's is almost back to pre-hurricanes. Mine is almost triple of that.

Has your insurance gone up or down?

Whoa that's a bit high. I'd say the best thing to do is get that inspection and go shop around because most companies have dropped their rates.

I agree with cmj. Did you get your home inspected? Go to www.mysafefloridahome.com you can sign up there and most often it greatly reduces your rates.

They aren't doing free inspections anymore, but I have someone coming early next week. I called a few more agents and one said they had my figures wrong on what it would cost to rebuild and that is why it is so much. She quoted me $1,800 for the same insurer instead of $3,100. She said I would probably pay a little less once I have the inspection. Waiting for others to call back.
