Default Swimming in October??

My husband and I are planning on visiting friends in Naples sometime between September-November, preferably October. Will we be able to enjoy relaxing on the beach and swimming in the ocean at these times? Is the weather enjoyable at these times? Thanks so much!

Whitney

Yes I believe you can still swim that time of year (temperature wise) I haven't been in the Gulf in sometime (the ocean is on the other coast) only because I have a pool in the backyard and don't really like saltwater. Anyway that time of the year is a bit nicer at least at night it cools off a bit. Enjoy your stay in SWFL.

The first time I came here was in October. The temps of the air and water are much better then than in the middle of the summer (both very HOT). It probably will be in the high 80s, maybe low 90s by October, as opposed to mid-90s and above right now.

Ummm, if you can come november, I would come then -- maybe just before thanksgiving. Hurricane season runs until Nov 1. Hope we won't get any hurricanes, but we might still be in summer if you come in September -- it's very hot and humid during our summer and you may lose part of your day to heavy rains. It still tropical storm season then. I like the beach in the summertime, but a lot of people don't care for the "flora and fauna" that these storms can deposit on the sand.
