Since we have some nice, dark skies in alot of the areas of SW Florida in general, sometimes nature itself can put on the best show you'll find.....
But ya gotta get up early to catch it.... The annual Perseid meteor shower is happening all weekend over our heads while we're snoozing in the wee hours. The most active meteor shower of the year, it's best to view between 2:00 am and dawn when you should be able to catch one or two every five minutes or so. Find a dark place, and watch the sky toward the northeast, to directly overhead. The show peaks on early Tuesday morning, with activity increasing each morning until then. Just Google "perseid meteor" for more info. Enjoy ![]() |
