My boyfriend and I are 21 and are moving to fort myers and have two places in mind where we could rent. one is in Cypress Landings by colonial and wrinkler and the other is Olympia point off of Lee/ colonial and 82 close to lehigh acres. everyone is telling me to stay away from Lehigh acres but the Opympia townhomes look like a really nice place, but it's on the out skirt of lehigh. my boyfriend is going to be working at the lee county jail.

Any advice were we should live. we want a condo or a townhome $900 max for rent.. were do most young people hang out at?

I need a place in two weeks!!!

I would not rent anything near Lehigh.... Colonial and Winkler is a good area ... and it is close to everything.

Colonial and Winkler would be a good bet, nice area, and close to the jail, assuming he is working downtown, and not out on Ortiz Ave. Stay away from Lehigh, if at all possible. South Ft Myers, or any areas of Cape Coral will find you a nice place to rent in the $900.00 range today. Even the north sections of the Cape would be a nice fit, location wise, again assuming work is in downtown Ft Myers.

Default I agree!

You're young, and off Winkler is more centered to the fun/hip happenin’ places to go downtown (bike nights in old brownstones – VERY COOL!) Lehigh Acres is (was when I lived there) a migrant community... very transient... not a place I’d live. I live in Melbourne[FONT=Verdana] now, and LOVED Ft. Myers… but no one was moving to Lehigh anytime soon!

off winkler is a young crowd. in olympia isn't bad, it is just outside of the bad areas and it is right off colonial. i have a friend with a short sale there. i would recommend winkler. you would probably like it there more.

Stay away from Lehigh. Decent nightlife on the weekends at Ft. Myers Beach and at the local sports bars...
