Smile Pine Ridge 55 and over gated community

Does anyone live in Pine Ridge? I would like all the information I can get about it. Looking at buying a condo. Is it a good place? Or there others that are better in the same price range in Ft. Myers?

Sure would appreciate any input.

The Pine Ridge community I am referring to is in Ft. Myers, Florida. How does it rate price wise with other 55 and over communities in Ft. Myers? There are so many things available out there that it is hard to know where to look.

meyoutoo,

I have a couple more questions that may help.
one/two/three bedroom,
price range,
why the ft myers area
are you from out of state
What interests do you have
tennis / swimming / boating / golf
when do you want to buy
do you have a job in the area / need a job
are you retired
married
have kids
need to be near good schools
are you over 55,
answers or comments on these subjects will help find / recommend a good place for you

Good Luck!

This will be a second home for my husband and I, both over 55. We are looking for the best buy we can get and it seems there are more homes available in Ft. Myers than in Naples, etc. We need the warm weather in the winter. Of course I would prefer Naples, but think the better buys are in Ft. Myers.

Thank you for replying to my message. If you know the area well, any input would be appreciated.

Forgot to mention, but a 2 bedroom condo with pool will be sufficient. Would consider a foreclosure if in good condition.

Because we are over 55, and do not want a lot of excess noise that is possible with young singles, etc.

Have you checked out Punta Gorda Isle. It is a really nice area, boat access to the gulf, really nice houses, it is a nice South West Florida town, and they are trying to keep the historical feeling. All the suburbia things are within minutes, but outside the town. It is not far from Fort Myers.

Let me know.

well there are not many areas like that, most are older communities. the problem with 55+ communities is that most have very strict rules. whether it is against allowing children/grandchildren visiting etc. they aren't allowed to be in the community after 8pm. not allowed to stay the night. parking on the street. you understand what i am trying to say? most people don't actually enjoy it. i have never heard a response to the older communities.

there are many, many communities that have an older crowd that are very active and also very quiet. for example, i lived in pelican sound years ago and i was the only person in the whole condo building all summer and during season only 6 more units filled up out of 22 units. this is a golf/tennis/river club community.

i personally think it is one of the nicest communities with amenities that is still affordable and the river club is great - daily boat shuttle rides to lovers key island.
