It was a mediterranean type restaurant(Cin Cin). I am not suprised, that area is dying anyways. My step dad had to sell his restaurant on McGregor last year, after all the work he did. The economy here killed it.

Any new ideas for good restaurants??
My husband and I will soon be making another one of our biannual trips to the area and are wondering if any new restaurants have popped up that people would recommend. Again, nothing fancy or expensive. Just good food in a relaxed atmosphere. (No chain rest. please). Thanks!

Heavenly Biscuit on Ft. Myers Beach is a very inexpensive little restaurant, open from 8 till 2.
They have the best cinnamon rolls, breakfast sandwiches and more.
$3.50 will get you a homemade heavenly biscuit, egg, bacon & tomato sandwich...
Yummy, all fresh ingredients.

If you want good breakfast on Sanibel then look no further than the lighthouse! Try their Pecan crusted french toast or FL style Egg's bennedict, both out of this world...

meh, it was ok but definately overpriced and overdressed for this area. Everything needs to be casual and under $20 a plate to pretty much succeed. Only places that deviate from this norm are either on Sanibel or the Morgan House/Veranda down town.

For an upscale dinner try The Sandy Butler in Ft. Myers. Trip Advisor rated it #1 among 350 F.M. restaurants. The food is excellant. Entrees in the 25 - 30 range.

Right now, my favorite restaurant in the Fort Myers area is actually in the Cape--Wine and Roses.
The food is great, the staff treats you like a good friend they haven't seen in ten years, the portions are generous, they've got a full liquor bar in addition to a decent wine list, and the prices can't be beat.
That pretty much covers it.

When I lived in Fort Myers, we used to love Pizza 2000 on 41 & Cypress Lake, Ninos on Daniels, and Starz Pizza on John Morris. Chops in Bonita used to be decent if you are looking for something more upscale. Oh--and Timbers on Sanibel.
