Estero and Bonita Springs
Any info regarding Estero and Bonita Springs? Are they bad commutes to the Fort Myers area? Mapquest shows between 20-25 mins. Family friendly? Safe? Affordable?

estero and bonita are the future down here. especially estero, its the strongest up and coming area. you can expect real estate price to rise over the years there, it is a solid investment.
whats specifically are you looking for?

Estero is the place to be! Estero is actually South Ft Myers. I live here and it's only a 20-25 minute drive to downtown Ft Myers without snowbird traffic in the way. Bonita is another 20 minutes south of here. Since Estero is so new there isn't as much crime here (but there is crime) as in Bonita or Ft Myers. Lots of new communities going in, lots of foreclosures on those communities also, so houses can be had for fairly cheap now.

Estero is better than Bonita. It's a shorter commute, and an up and coming area. It's probably the best place to buy if you want to be in a prime spot these days.

That is your opinion. I live on Bonita Beach and would prefer it over Estero anyday (not that there is anything wrong with Estero, I think Estero is great).
It is all relevant to what section of Estero/Bonita that you would be moving to.

This question might be a bit odd, but i'm curious: How far inland do the ocean breezes go? I've been to Orlando (hot and still) and Miami (hot, but breezy but nice). I live in CO now, but am so tired of the cold, I'd love someday to move to Florida -plus I love the ocean.
On average, do the ocean breezes die off a few miles inland, or do they make it farther?

Here, Gulf breezes typically do not get much past 41 depending on the day (So I would say 1-8 miles from the shore on average). Everyday is different and some days the winds will be reversed and will be coming from the east. Here on the shore, everyday has some sort of breeze. At night it dies down and some nights there will be no breeze.
