Default Erik Estrada, Here's Your Lehigh Acres

http://www.nytimes.com/2009/02/08/us/08lehigh.html?hp

The article definitely is not funny, but I couldn't help but smile thinking of Erik Estrada's sales pitch in his Lehigh Acres infomercial.

Coincidentally, I posted the same article on another thread before I read this. I wonder what kind of effect Obama's visit will have on the area. Headlines like "Despair and Foreclosures" certainly wouldn't attract me!

My bro in law built a house there in 2004, we almost bought a lot there in 2005 (thank G-d we didn't go thru with it) He, of course, can't sell it for what he bought it for. He wasn't speculating, he was living there and working in Ft Meyers. But he's been telling us for over a year now how bad it's gotten. 20 people stuffed into 1 tiny house because their houses have been foreclosed on. The place is disgusting now, dirty and over-run with the dregs of society. It's a very depressing city now.

Graywolf73,

I see you settled on Canton Ga. Beautiful area. I completely agree, you made a good choice and steered clear of Ft, Myers.

I feel so bad because my sister n law talked my husband and i into buying alot there early last year. At the time of purchase we didn't really realize that lehigh was so bad. We purchased property on the west side, Is that just as bad as the other areas ?
