Community School of Naples
Anyone have any experience with sending their children here? Good school?
I've looked for other private schools in the area but all I've come up with is religious backed ones.
Any others out there?
Thanks

They have a good reputation but are very expensive.
Seacrest School I don't think is religious. http://www.seacrest.org/

Community School of Naples is supposed to be very good. We did look into it. It will cost you an arm and a leg, literally, to go there. I think they offer financial assistance to some students, but from what I hear, a very small percentage of students who apply actually get financial aid. I have also heard others talking and some say that the families that normally have sustained this school are now in need of financial help themselves. A lot of private schools in the area are hurting because parents aren't able to pay for an education these days. This school is by far the most expensive one around. While I am in favor of a private education for my children, I have a hard time believing that any private school education, at an elementary level, could be worth this much money per year. There are a lot of good private schools for more reasonable prices, but if you don't want a religious one, you may have more trouble finding one.

Thanks for the link, RMD. Seacrest does look like a good alternative to the Community School.
Obx, unfortunately it seems all private school tuition is rising these days! Having gone to private school my entire school life, I think it was best going there for elementary. I was there a total of 14 years, pre-school, kindergarten and then 1-12 and having a familiar atmosphere every year made things much better, IMO.
The only problem is like I said, finding those that aren't religious based. Not that there's anything wrong with them, but I want my children to grow up and discover a path of religion, or no religion on their own.

I agree, private is best these days, if you can swing it. Mine are in a private schoool, but it is religion based, so probably not for you. Good luck with your search. I have done extensive research on private schools from Fort Myers to Naples, looking for the right one for my children, so if you need any help, let me know.

I have to make it down there to Naples first... not for another couple years, but it's never to early to start planning!

Love Community School of Naples
Excellent school! Caring staff and great teachers. Administration is working hard to keep fees as low as possible. But they also want to be able to pay teachers well so that they can attract and keep the best! Why not contact the school to see if it is a good fit for your family? Take a tour. Ask questions. Meet with teachers. Angel Ball raises $$ every year to help families offset the cost of tuition.

We put our two children, one in sixth and one in ninth, in Community School and have been very pleased. Their reputation of an excellent academic school is well deserved, but what we love the most are the small classes and caring faculty.
