I've been to Sharky's years ago, lookin to go back. Need to take a ride out of town one saturday to Venice.
The old causeway is gone for the most part. There was talk to leave some up for a fishing pier. It might be there, I did not notice.

Living barefoot most of the time.
I always love it when a friend up north calls me in the winter complaining about how they are freezing with the heat cranked up high, and I am out by the pool in bare feet trying to empathize...........

TANaples, why must you come onto a positive thread about SWFL and pounce on it and the people that love it?? So what if you desire rain. Move to Portland or Seattle.

Then you get torrential downpours which last about hour an hour and flood the roadways. Thanks, but no thanks. I would much rather have a YEAR ROUND persistent rainfall that these sporadic downpours.

Then why did you move back here because you knew that.

TA, move north, my friends in PA said they are having 9 straight days of dreary damp, hot, cold, rainy weather. That's one reason why we moved here. It's part of Florida climate. Stop complaining and move out if you don't like it..

My lake, and most of the other lakes, are around 6 feet below its banks. All the pipes and drainage systems can be seen. You like that? You think that is pretty?
There is a severe draught. There are yellow signs down the medians posting this. It is now rainy season. It will rain just around every day during the afternoon hours. If you REALLY love Florida so much, you will welcome all this rain for FLORIDA'S sake, not yours and your outdoor activities.
PS. Last year's draught they restricted water usage.
