Default Best Areas in Fort Meyers/ Cape Coral? HELP!!!

We are looking into this area. We would need a four bedroom house with a some property - we have dogs so some gated communities would be out.
We would love a pool home that has a fireplace and is well constructed. We are looking for homes that are under 175,000. Is this possible?
We would like a relatively convenient , safe somewhat up scale neighborhood where people are nice and welcoming but not overly involved in each others lives. Any suggestions? We have children and prefer public schools BTW
Thanks!

If I was going to be your neighbor, and based on what you have said, I would direct you to look for a nice big lot in Suncoast estates in N-Fort myers.

Try Dunbar.

It's just as classy as the South Bronx....but without the annoying police presence.

Stick to south fort Myers, the cape is having huge problems right now with big tax increases and water projects that are mandatory. Those bridge tolls will kill you
